A-Case Kane
We want to first thank A-Case for sending us the Kane. I went through the order process to review the entire experience.
I’ve been hunting for my next case - one that can store the entirety of an Age of Sigmar army when I go to a weekly game night in town, or to an event/convention out of state. The case needs to be magnetized, durable, and spacious - as I’d love the option to take something like a Legion force with me as well to an event without having to take multiple bags (as Sigmar armies can require quite a bit of space including faction terrain… *cough* …Sylvaneth… *cough* …).
These were my requirements as I began exploring the market for a magnetic case for my miniatures. Cases can get expensive, but quality of materials and durability is important to protect the armies I’ve spent so much time and resources building, so finding a premium solution was important.
That’s when I came across the A-Case Kane.
As you can see in the pictures, this case is huge. I can fit an entire Sigmar army with space left over. There’s plenty of space for books, dice, and other tabletop gaming accessories in the side pockets. There’s three side pockets, one front, and one you can use in the back. It’s well made, durable, and I’m not concerned about my miniatures arriving safely to my destination.
Setup was very quick. I had the entire case assembled, with trays in place, within 10 minutes of opening the box (comes flat packed). I also added an extra set of 3 shelves - something I would highly recommend for a case this size. Shipping time took 4 days from the day I put in the order. Yes…you read that right…ONLY 4 DAYS - and that’s shipping from Poland to the USA. That’s almost as fast as an Amazon order!
Other cases this size find it hard to marry weight and durability into an end product. The Kane balances these factors well, as the case for it’s size was actually lighter than I expected it to be. The Kane has a shoulder strap, a carrying handle, and backpack straps for carrying options. There’s a zipper pocket in the back for hiding the backpack straps if you’d rather carry it with the single shoulder strap. For a case this size, I was surprised how comfortable it is to carry around.
A-Case has also been doing this for nearly 10 years. They have a proven track record. Others have come after and have tried to do it for cheaper, but sacrifices were made to get to a cheaper price tag. I have friends who have “cheaper” similar options and after comparing theirs to the Kane - they now see why A-Case is a premium case compared to cheaper options. A-Case bags don’t have durability, weight, material, space, and comfort complaints that I see in so many other bags.
One feature of this case that was a big selling point for me was the sliding out racks. I know there are other cases with similar solutions, but adjusting shelf height is so easy with the Kane (and A-Case’s other bags). The pins to hold shelves in place is also a nice touch - leaving me piece of mind that my minis won’t fall out. And did I mention how big the shelves are? Just take a look at how much space you have on each shelf!
Finally, the people over at A-Case are fantastic people. This is something that you can’t put a price tag on. They are invested in the community, are quick to respond, and will always resolve any issue that may arise. In my opinion, this just makes the price even more worth it - not only a premium bag, but a premium experience with premium service.
Overall, this is a VERY good case - and one that I’ll be exclusively taking with me from now on. It’s spacious, comfortable to carry, and never has me wondering if my miniatures are safe in transport. The case does come with a price tag, but I’d recommend saving up for a premium case like this. This case is going to last.
I also have the portable paint station arriving soon. I’ll be creating a video for that - so be on the lookout soon for my review of the new portable paint station that was recently released!
